Deenmate ("we", "our", or "the app") is an Islamic companion application designed to help Muslims practice their faith through prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reading, Duas, Tasbeeh counter, Zakat calculator, and other Islamic features. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

## 2. Information We Collect

### 2.1 Data Collected Locally
The following data is collected and stored **only on your device**:
- Prayer time preferences and calculation methods
- Tasbeeh (dhikr) counter history and custom dhikr lists
- Zakat calculation records and distribution tracking
- Bookmarked Duas and Quran verses
- App settings and preferences (theme, language, notifications)
- Prayer tracking history (which prayers you've offered)
- Qibla direction calibration data

**Important**: All personal Islamic practice data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

### 2.2 Location Data
We collect location data for the following purposes:
- **Prayer Times**: To calculate accurate prayer times based on your geographic location
- **Qibla Direction**: To show the direction to Mecca (Kaaba) from your current location
- **Nearby Mosques**: To find mosques near your location (if you use this feature)
- **Umrah/Hajj Tracking**: To provide location-based guidance during pilgrimage (optional feature)

**Location Usage**:
- **Foreground**: Used when you open prayer times or Qibla features
- **Background**: Used only for prayer time notifications (can be disabled)
- **Precision**: We use both coarse and fine location for accuracy
- **Storage**: Location coordinates are stored locally; we do not send them to servers

### 2.3 Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics:
- App opens and session duration
- Feature usage patterns (which Islamic features are used most)
- Device type and Android version (for compatibility)
- Crash reports (to fix bugs and improve stability)
- App version and update information
- Prayer notification delivery success rates

This data is **aggregated and anonymous** - we cannot identify individual users.

### 2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number) unless you voluntarily provide it
- Your prayer history or spiritual practices (stays on device)
- Contacts, photos, or media files
- Messages or call logs
- Financial information or payment details
- Browsing history or data from other apps
- Audio or video recordings

Data stored on your device is used to:
- Display accurate prayer times for your location
- Show Qibla direction
- Track your Tasbeeh counts and dhikr
- Calculate and track Zakat obligations

### 3.2 Location Data
Location information is used to:
- Calculate prayer times using your geographic coordinates
- Determine Qibla direction accurately
- Find nearby mosques on the map
- Provide location-based guidance during Umrah/Hajj
- Send timely prayer notifications based on your location

### 3.3 Analytics Data
Anonymous analytics help us:
- Understand how Muslims use Islamic features
- Identify and fix bugs and crashes
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Prioritize new Islamic features based on usage
- Ensure compatibility across different devices

## 4. Permissions We Request

Deenmate requires the following permissions to function:

**All permissions are used solely for their stated Islamic purposes and can be revoked in Android Settings.**

## 5. Firebase Services

We use the following Firebase services:

- Collects anonymous usage data
- Helps us understand app performance
- No personal Islamic practice data is collected
- Data is encrypted in transit

### 5.2 Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
- Used to send app updates and Islamic reminders
- Does not access your personal messages
- Can be disabled in device settings

### 5.3 Firebase Crashlytics
- Collects crash reports to fix bugs
- No personal data is included in crash reports

- You can remove ads through in-app purchase

- **Local Data**: All Islamic practice data is stored securely on your device using Android's encrypted storage

- **No Cloud Backup**: Your prayer history and Tasbeeh counts are not backed up to cloud (unless you use Android's backup feature)
- **Data Retention**: Local data remains until you clear it or uninstall the app

We **do not sell, rent, or share** your data with third parties, except:
- **Firebase/Google**: Anonymous analytics data as described above
- **Maps Data**: Location queries to Google Maps for mosque locations
- **Legal Requirements**: If required by law or to protect our legal rights
- **Islamic Organizations**: We do not share your data with any Islamic organizations

## 9. Children's Privacy

Deenmate is designed for Muslims of all ages, including children learning Islamic practices. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents can use the app with their children to teach Islamic practices.

## 10. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:
- **View Data**: All your data is accessible within the app
- **Delete Data**: Clear prayer history, Tasbeeh counts, and Zakat records in Settings
- **Export Data**: Export your Zakat calculations and prayer tracking (if available)
- **Opt-Out of Location**: Disable location access (prayer times will use manual location)
- **Disable Notifications**: Turn off prayer reminders in app or device settings
- **Revoke Permissions**: Manage app permissions in Android Settings
- **Remove Ads**: Purchase ad-free version (if applicable)

## 11. Prayer Time Accuracy

We use industry-standard Islamic calculation methods:
- Multiple calculation methods (ISNA, MWL, Egyptian, Karachi, etc.)
- Accurate Qibla direction using device compass and GPS
- Adjustable prayer time offsets for local variations
- Automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustments

**Note**: While we strive for accuracy, we recommend verifying prayer times with your local mosque, especially for Fajr and Isha.

## 12. Data Deletion

To delete all your data:
1. Open Deenmate
2. Go to Settings → Privacy → Clear All Data
3. Or uninstall the app from your device

All local data will be permanently deleted. Anonymous analytics data cannot be individually deleted as it's not linked to you.

## 13. International Users

Deenmate is available globally for Muslims worldwide. By using the app, you consent to the transfer and processing of data as described in this policy. Location data is processed locally on your device.

## 14. Islamic Compliance

We are committed to Islamic principles:
- **Halal Content**: All content is screened for Islamic appropriateness
- **Privacy**: We respect your privacy as an Islamic principle
- **No Haram Ads**: Advertisements (if any) are filtered to exclude haram content
- **Authentic Sources**: Quran and Hadith from verified Islamic sources
- **Scholarly Review**: Islamic content reviewed by knowledgeable Muslims

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
